The game has 4 versus (PvP) game modes, and 4 CO-OP (PvE) game modes. You really need to be fast in reacting and focus on the game if you don’t want to keep dying. This game runs on Unreal Engine 4, which is a huge leap from Insurgency 2014, which ran on the aging Source Engine. Sandstorm is one of the most unforgiving, and skill based shooters out there, where teamwork wins the match. This game has the intensity of Battlefield, the realism of ARMA, and a simple, but good enough weapon customization system. The game feels more along the lines of Battlefield, than Military Simulation games, like ARMA, or Squad.
Insurgency Sandstorm does an amazing job of having the sense of realism, but still avoiding the complicacies of Military Simulation games. This game has brought realism into a form, which is accessible to casuals. I have been playing this game for 6 days, and I’m loving it.
